I have same problem, when Microsoft Word 2007 says “Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error”, but I’m saving to a hard drive…
And I have Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.4000.2295 installed.
The problem appeared 26.03.3009 (perhaps due to some Windows Update).

It’s a shame GMU doesn’t make LDAP lookup information too readily available because this is a REALLY useful thing to know about, especially for those living on campus. I don’t even remember how I found out about this initially, but regardless, thanks for posting!
